I'm thankful for my job at the Lynden Pioneer Museum. When my guys were little it was a great mom job. Flexible hours so I didn't miss any ball games, plays, or class parties. Now having the flexible hours is great for matching up my schedule to Hubby's schedule. And for when I want to take a day off for no good reason.
I have met so many wonderful people at the museum. Whether it's been friendships from the beginning (15 years ago), or the more recently made friendships, or the meeting of the visitors from all over the world, I have met some really great people. Interesting too! My volunteers are some pretty special people and I'm thankful for them.
I'm thankful for my boss too. The museum director, Troy, is a talented guy. His knowledge of local history is amazing. And he is entertaining. Troy speaks many languages including German tourist and el Spanish O. How fun is that?
And lastly, one part of my job is that I get to shop. I'm the buyer for the gift shop. So, I'm shopping while I'm getting paid. Read the previous sentence again. Press the jealous button.
Yes, I am blessed in my work at the museum. And I am thankful for my job.

I am printing this out and posting it above your desk for when Troy is a bit more...let's say...challenging! :)
It is a pretty great place to work. We're thankful for you too.
It's so great to have a job that you love! Fun and a paycheck all in one!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Yay for the museum! I'm thankful that we met there... ELEVEN YEARS AGO. Seriously, it's been THAT long! And sometimes I do miss Troy's "German Tourist" and "El Spanish-O" translations. Sometimes.
It's so great to have a job that you love! You are blessed, Tami! :)
It is so truly delightful to read your posts....I feel as if I know you. I get teary each time you include photos/posts re your sons. As a mom of sons, now men and our precious little grandson, I feel a kindred insight, as well.
I would LOVE to come visit your beautiful Linden & the museum someday. Chicago to Seattle is a great trip. Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks to you for adding your sweet observations to the blogosphere! ~~Merri Jo
