Trash to Treasure

I went to the Second Chance Thrift Store this morning. I seldom go on a Wednesday but it is the best day go. On Wednesdays all the new treasures are out on the shelves.
I found a water pitcher, glass and silver, it matches my coffee server that I got at Sally Ann's years ago. I am guessing that the inside piece is the place for ice, so that if you have lemonade in the pitcher it doesn't get watered down.

Picked up a pink rosebud dessert plate, I have a small set of this pattern. Sometimes a girl needs pink.

Last but not least, sheet music. What would someone as unmusically talented as moi be doing with sheet music? I've got a plan and you'll see it for Christmas.

Yellow tags were half off today. yay! Two half price items. A lot of fun for under $4.

Busy today with a bad case of projectitis. Completed projects coming soon.

An Evening of Mystery

Last evening things were pretty serious at the Stone House. Someone got a speeding ticket in a school zone. Someone was in a lot of trouble.

Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door. A large shiney package and balloons were left on the doorstep...

Layers and layers of boxes, wrapping paper, tissue, confetti, Hershey's kisses and glitter led to...

one teeny, tiny BIG question.

He said yes ;)
And it helped lighten the mood here.

We Went For Tea Lights

I needed some Ikea tea lights before the holiday season. I was thinking about that this morning as I was calling Sheryl to come for coffee. You know me, always multitasking. Made a snap decision and asked her if she wanted a field trip to Canada today.
Yep, she was in.
Quick called Shelly, yep, she was in.
Shelly called Dor to tell her we were going. Dor can't do last minute, in the morning...

We decided it would be a quick trip, we only needed tea lights and to have a look at the holiday inventory.
We got a little sidetracked...
I loved this cream leather chair. It rocked and has an ottoman.

The girls loved this display. Sorry, it won't fit in the Honda. They'll have to be happy with a picture.

Sheryl found this sweet bedroom for her Granddaughter, Ella.


Not really sure what one would do with the oversized hat and crown. Whimsical, but we left them there.

I have no idea how all of this stuff got in the Honda. We went for tea lights...


Now I have to get busy, lots of projects to coordinate.

The Blue and The Whites

When Max took off for the Seattle Sounder's game on Thursday night he forgot to give me his football laundry.

So, on Friday morning he went and got it from the locker room. I rushed and got everything washed and returned to school by 10:30 a.m. The football gear was leaving at 10:30 for the ferry.

Thank goodness I rushed around and got his Whites white and his Blues bright!



I guess I better get my Spray and Wash out and loaded...

Oh, and if anyone has a pair of size 12 cleats that Max could borrow for a week, I would sure appreciate it. His were in tough shape and the bottom of one fell off last night. He left them in the trash in the Friday Harbor locker room...

Yes, we took the eight o'clock ferry home. Mama didn't raise no fool.

More Games

Max, Tyler and Eric went with Brian to the Seattle Sounders playoff game against Houston last night. They were part of the LOUD 36,000 fans in Seattle. Score 0-0. On to Houston!
Their seats were sweet, in a suite on the Red Zone. Red Bull Suite rocks! Hubby and I watched the game on espn.

A BIG thanks to Coach Terp for allowing Max to go to the "rodeo"...

Today we are taking the ferry to San Juan Island to watch the Lyncs football teams take on Friday Harbor. There is a high wind warning. I am so taking the seasick pills. Friday Harbor doesn't have covered bleachers. I can hardly believe that in the Pacific Northwest they wouldn't build a cover.

I am wearing so many clothes, taking my blanket, walking on the ferry and hoping for NO rain!

Would I be a bad Mom if I took the early ferry home and missed the second game?

Family Power

When we had our family reunion at Silver Lake this September we all got to know my cousin, Todd's daughter better. Jordan told us that she loved volleyball and played varsity for BEHS. We told her that we'd come to her game when she played LCHS.

Last night was the big game. Jordan had to be feelin' the love. Her Grandma Nelda, and the Greats, Uncle Rich, Aunt Doris, Uncle Ed, Aunt Twyla, Aunt Judy were there. Cousins Steve and Jewel and family, Jeff and Kathi, myself, and Max. Her Uncle Troy too. Friends of Grandma Nelda came too. Of course, her parents, Todd and Julia were there.

The fans were yelling, "Tiger Power" and "LC Power"...
I was thinking "Famiy Power" pretty much rocked!

On a side note, I had not watched a high school volleyball game since the late 70's. It's a fast paced fun game. Oh, and their shorts got much shorter. Yikes!
