Jodi is the Winner!

Jodi guessed the Honda Element and that would be correct! There is no prize, sorry. Just the personal satisfaction of being right. We're leaning toward the green but if we got the orange we could call her, Punkin. Tempting ;)

Uninvited Guest

Last night while we were sleeping, we had a guest and she was very busy.

Mystery Guests

Last evening Vern and Shelly came for dinner, well, drinks actually, but I had dinner planned. What the birthday girl did not know was that I invited mystery guests. Ad, our Spanish teacher and Shelly's Mom, Nelia came for dinner too. I think a good time was had by all. My hubby ran into our neighbors today, they thought it sounded like a very, very good time. They heard lots of laughing and singing and wondered about the BIG party.
*Sorry about the poor photography, I can not, for the life of me, entertain and take pics at the same time. Shelly has much better pics on her blog.

Happy Birthday Shelly

My dear friend, Shelly has a birthday today. I've invited her and her husband to stop by for drinks. You know, a cocktail. In the city that is just what it means- a cocktail hour. We are country folk. so, this is what stop by for a drink means...Have a glass of wine, a beer and snacks and then we are having a good time and you stay for dinner. Sometimes when I invite I have a plan or a tentative idea or sometimes my plan is to order out for pizza. Summertime is easy, I always have a plan and am ready because we LOVE friends and family on the patio.
Anyway, last year Shelly stopped by for a birthday libation and she had evening plans with her hubby. Pretty soon she called him to come over, then BIL Bill stopped by. Pretty soon I told Bill I was going to call my sis, Jodi, his wife. He thought I meant to tell on him for sitting around at our place. What I meant was to invite her to come over. Yikes, that guy! Anyway, the whole business ended up here and I had no plan. Eventually, I found something to throw on the grill and Shelly ended up having hot dogs for her Bday dinner instead of yummy dinner at the Cliffhouse with her hubby.
My point is (by now you must be thinking, for crying out loud, lady, get to the point) that Shelly is tons of fun and a sweet friend that can just go with the flow and have a good time. Really, the best kind of friend to have! Happy Bday Shell, stop by tonight and we'll see what happens.

Car Salesmen and a Big Fat Dinner

My hubby and I were out kickin' tires tonight. We need a new vehicle. We took a test drive and narrowed it down. The salesman was nice, he probably thought I was a freak. Car shopping is about the scariest thing in the world for me. I am a wreck the entire time. We just need to choose a color and make the final decision to part with the money. Sometime this Fall we hope to replace a vehicle with a ???? Take a guess at what we are looking to buy.

Vehicle shopping is very stressful for me so we had to go out for dinner to Jack Neiman's Steakhouse to relieve my anxiety. Soooo good.

Return to Sender

I've only ever seen this on TV... while in casinos guys will kiss the dice and say, "c'mon, baby needs new shoes" and then throw the dice and win big money. It would have to be BIG money to buy for my baby. Max needed new boots for showing cows at the fair. Big ol' size twleve boots. They came UPS yesterday in the biggest shoe box I've ever seen.

And then I got the mail and THIS came, a stinkin' AARP membership! It's no secret I'll be the big 50 this year but for cryin' out loud, an AARP card!
Please, no more packages or letters. I can't take it.
